Creating an account:
Head to My Account and create an account. Once you have created an account you can choose a Membership package that best suits your wardrobe. You will be prompted to fill out billing information.
If you are wanting to become a vendor and list your own items, head to the vendor dashboard. Here you can manage all of your rentals.
It is important to set up your payment method, so head to store settings, then billing. You must select pay method and choose stripe connect. If you have a Stripe account already you can connect it now otherwise you will need to head to https://stripe.com/nz and create an account. You will be asked for your website, you can use simplyborrowed.co.nz. You will also be asked for a business name – you can use your store name or Simply Borrowed. You may also be asked for your business type, you can put sole trader and do not have to input a NZBN. Once completed you will need to verify your account and you will be good to connect your stripe.
Listing an item: Hit the product manager on your dashboard, then add product.
Start with the product title, you can use descriptive words or the items brand and colour. Product short description will show up next to the item on the website, here you can put the garments measurements or what size it best fits.
Note: Product description will show up at the bottom of your rental listing so it is not as important to fill this out.
Click to upload image- this will be the cover image. Below this you will see the option to add more images under product gallery images.
Next you will see 4 tabs. General, Cost’s, Availability and Attributes. General can take a minute to understand but once you figure out what settings suit you it will be simple moving forward.
Here are a few definitions to help:
Booking duration (how long the rental will be)
Block/s (the amount of time the item can be rented in one go, for example if you set your block at 3 days then every booking block will be three days).
Cost (rental fee, how much the renter pays to rent this item).
Display cost (rental fee that shows how much your listing costs).
Bond (you as the vendor choose this amount depending on the value of your garment, if the item is damaged or not returned you will email us with your dispute and this bond amount will be returned to you rather than the renter. However this will be refunded to the renter if they return the garment in the same condition you sent it out in).
Max bookings per block (if you only have x1 of this item, you can only rent it out one at a time so you’ll need to set this as 1).
Minimum block bookable ( at minimum, how many blocks can someone rent the item for, again set this as 1).
Maximum block bookable (at maximum, how many blocks can someone rent the item for? For example someone wants to rent your item for 9 days, and you have set your block for three days, they will need to book three blocks).
Require a buffer period of (how many days do you need in between each booking, think about how long you need to wash the item and give time for it to be returned in the post).
Adjacent buffering (would you like the same amount of buffer period before AND after each booking).
Attributes, click the little arrow, colour and add. You can now choose the colour/s of the item by tapping inside the box below “values”. Below this you can also choose if this will be visible on the product page by ticking the box.
Complete the same steps to select the size of your item and don’t forget to save attributes.
Scroll to the bottom of this page to product categories, here you can select the category you would like your item to show up in on the website. Beneath this you can choose the brand of your garment, if it is not showing the brand you are looking for, you can leave this unselected.
Lastly click publish! Your item will then be live on Simply Borrowed.
